I wasn't quite sure where to go today. While chatting with the Cuban who was serving me my 5-cent coffee, he convinced me to head towards Baracoa, the first city in Cuba.

I came across a man filling disposable lighters. Yet another brilliant idea from the Cuban people, defying the laws of overconsumption. For 10 cents, this kind gentleman will refill your lighter.

I'm finally leaving Moa, the landscape is breathtaking because it's so polluted.

The wind is still blowing hard, and the road is in very bad condition. These kind Cubans are giving me ice water; that's generous of them.

The scenery is beautiful despite the impossible climbs. For the first time on the trip, I accept defeat and walk up the hills alongside my bike.

I find a small, secluded beach and I find happiness!!!

Short video:
After a quick dip, I hit the road again...bam! Flat tire!

I fixed everything like a pro. Thanks to my friend Pep who gave me a mini-lesson before I left. I patched the two holes in my inner tube. I hit the road again and bought a bottle of fresh mango juice from a Cuban family. The funniest thing is that the man of the house had lost the key to the padlock, so he had to climb in through the roof...

I get back on the road and bam...another flat tire, which I happily fix. Life is good, I'm fixing another hole.

I've finally arrived in Baracoa...I have a lovely room by the sea.

A very beautiful day. I feel great! I'm becoming more Cuban every day! Let life guide you, or ask an old man to help you make decisions!
